On October 30th, our hub travelled to Ferrymead. I thought it was going to be just a nice, natural trip, like going to the park. But for some reason, when the bus parked, all we saw was an old, kind-of-demolished house. It was all moldy and brown.
Then a person named Robert shocked my soul out, because we weren't listening, so he shouted and it felt like my ears were bleeding. He told us what we were going to do. First, I thought this was a boring trip as we walked around the place.
We saw an old town. The town looked boring. It felt like nothing was working there. We were split into groups, and I was in group seven. We had to change into old and tight uniforms. Then we had 6-8 rotations. Our first activity was the jail cell so we dashed toward the olden day prison. It looked scary inside the cell. Then we had a look at the toilets. But sadly, the toilets were rebuilt into modern day toilets. Then we had free time. We played with stilts, these horsey things, and climbing.
After all that we went to check out some old shops. There were pianos, bikes, food, and money. My group and me tried to steal the old pennies (which is right now a fortune). But we got caught and the teacher forced us to put the pennies back. After that we searched an old bakery shop. When me and my friends were investigating the place, we found actual, not expired fizzy drinks! We asked if we could drink one but sadly it was a no.
One of the best rotations we did was watching a short movie in an olden day movie theatre. We didn't get any food but it was fun to watch. And our best rotation was the tram ride. A tram is an old train powered by an electric wire. It took five minutes just to get back.
I am a student at St Francis of Assisi Catholic School. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

NZ History Rotations!
At the start of term 4, we have been doing rotations about NZ history. We learnt about Waitangi Day, World War I and II and NZ's worst disasters. We made quizzes, animations and documents.
1st Rotation: We learnt about Waitangi Day. Waitangi Day is the anniversary of when Maori and Europeans met in New Zealand. They were having a war until they made a peace treaty. Then one day, the house with the treaty caught on fire. Luckily the peace treaty wasn't burned fully.
2nd Rotation: We were learning about World War I and II. I did a quiz about World War !. Making up the questions was fun and easy but finding the answers was hard and boring. One of our questions was: Was Hitler in World War l?
3rd Rotation: We learnt about NZ natural disasters and disasters that humans caused. I did an animation about The Tangiwai Disaster. Here is my link to the animation:
