Beatitudes

What are Beatitudes?:
The first thing you will think of. Well Beatitudes are 8 blessings portrayed by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel of Matthew.

Why do we have Beatitudes?:
We’ve got beatitudes so we learn one life lesson from each beatitude and have a good and better life.

What are the eight Beatitudes?:
1. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
_________________________________________________________________
2. “Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
_________________________________________________________________
3. “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.”
_________________________________________________________________
4. “Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.”
_________________________________________________________________
5. “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.”
_________________________________________________________________
6. “Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.”
_________________________________________________________________
7. “Blessed are the peacemakers, they will be called children of God.”
_________________________________________________________________
8. “Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

How do Beatitudes relate to our daily lives?:
It kind-of-relates e.g, us (humans) are the peacemakers so we are called the children of God and the priest is the one who heals the blinded ones, who cleans the heart: so they can see God and believe in him, there are a lot of poor and homeless people trying to live and thrive.

Question: Do you now know what Beatitudes are? Yes or no?

  1. Hi Hayun
This was really well written. I have learnt a lot from reading your post. I had not heard of Beautitudes before I read your post. This is a good time for us all to be kind. Are you enjoying working from home.
